Pendar Technologies capped off an eventful 2019 with an announcement that its Pendar X10 has been selected as a finalist for the 2020 PRISM awards in the category of Safety and Security. The PRISM Awards recognize outstanding examples of a range of imaginative and innovative photonics products. Winners will be announced on February 5 at SPIE Photonics West in San Francisco.
Pendar X10 was introduced in February 2019 for rapid identification of hazardous chemicals in homemade explosives labs, clandestine drug labs, as well as industrial and pharmaceutical plants. It addresses previously unmet needs, such as the rapid identification of highly fluorescent chemicals and dark materials, at a standoff distance of 1 to 3 feet.
“2019 was a banner year for us, with Pendar X10 receiving multiple awards for its groundbreaking standoff Raman capabilities,” said Dr. Daryoosh Vakhshoori, CEO and Founder of Pendar Technologies. “We are honored by the recognition from our industry peers and are very pleased with the strong positive response from various agencies and organizations looking for safety improvements for their field users. The excitement is palpable when we show these users the ability to safely identify hazardous chemicals at a distance, and their enthusiasm for our technology has spurred us to introduce design and functionality improvements which we are excited to unveil in 2020.”
